WHS Administrator

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented WHS Administrator  to join our team! This role is ideal for someone with 3–4 years of experience in a safety advisor or administrator position within the construction industry, who is looking to further develop their career in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

The HSE Administrator will play a key support role to the HSE Manager by assisting in the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental systems across projects. This includes maintaining accurate safety documentation, tracking compliance with regulatory and ISO requirements, and preparing reports for audits and management review. The role will also support incident reporting and investigations, coordinate site inductions and training, and help monitor corrective actions to ensure timely close-out. By working closely with site teams and the HSE Manager, the Safety Administrator will contribute to fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring all operations align with company standards and legislative obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of site safety management systems
  • Assist with compliance to federal safety regulations and certification requirements
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, registers, and records
  • Coordinate safety training, inductions, and onboarding processes
  • Assist in audits and inspections, including ISO standards compliance
  • Prepare reports on incidents, hazards, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with site teams to promote a strong safety culture
  • Provide guidance and support in implementing QDC HSE plans and protocols for construction projects.
  • Review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and be able to read construction plans to identify risks, hazards and opportunities to improve safety on site
  • Participate in delivering safety training programs and initiatives to enhance awareness and promote safe work practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.

What You Need To Excel In The Role

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, equipment, and terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the construction industry including high risk work on a typical industrial build
  • 3–4 years’ experience as a Safety Advisor or Safety Administrator in construction
  • Exposure to federal safety certification processes
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes
  • Strong organisational and documentation writing skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (Procore and 1Breadcrumb would be advantageous)
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS/OHS (Cert or Degree) will be viewed favourably
