Project Engineer / Procurement Specialist

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid – Senior Project Engineer / Procurement Specialist to join our Pre-Construction Team, playing a key role in the success of our major construction projects. This position is perfect for someone with a proven track record in overseeing the Design and Procurement phases and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and technical input for the first phase of the projects
  • Manage procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements
  • Review design and documentation for cost engineer where practical
  • Assist with forecasting and programming
  • Assist with the preparation, review and submission of variations
  • Prepare project documentation and procedures from concept to commissioning
  • Assist with the technical, practical and safety design and construct elements of industrial and commercial projects
  • Review packages and costing for approval by Managers

What You Need To Excel In The Role

  • 5+ years post grad engineering, construction management or similar qualification
  • An understanding of the design and construction process from tender stage through to completion including Contracts, National Construction Code and Australian Standards
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of contract management, program financial management, risk and opportunity management and performance reporting
  • Experience in commercial/industrial construction projects
  • Knowledge and use of Procore, MS Project, MS Excel, BlueBeam
