Senior Project Engineer / Design

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid – Senior Project Engineer to join our Pre-Construction Team, playing a key role in the success of our major construction projects. This position is perfect for someone with a proven track record in overseeing the Design and Procurement phases and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Provide design and technical input for the first phase of the projects
Manage procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements
Review design and documentation for cost engineer where practical
Assist with forecasting and programming
Assist with the preparation, review and submission of variations
Prepare project documentation and procedures from concept to commissioning
Assist with the technical, practical and safety design and construct elements of industrial and commercial projects
Review packages and costing for approval by Managers

What You Need To Excel In The Role

5+ years post grad engineering, construction management or similar qualification
An understanding of the design and construction process from tender stage through to completion including Contracts, National Construction Code and Australian Standards
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of contract management, program financial management, risk and opportunity management and performance reporting
Experience in commercial/industrial construction projects
Knowledge and use of Procore, MS Project, MS Excel, BlueBeam
