Roofing System & Refurbishment

Client CBH Build Time 8 months Location Geraldton Contract Type Design and Construct Value $16.5M

QDC were engaged by CBH to design and construct a sealed in, gas tight, roofing system for four of their Grain Storge Facilities comprising 26,000m² in Geraldton. These facilities are located at the Port and are continually subjected to corrosive salt and moisture from the sea.

QDC designed a unique and robust roofing system – QDC FRC 50, which was specifically developed to ensure maximum durability and reduce maintenance costs substantially. In addition to the roofing system, we designed a bespoke roll form machine and lifting beam mechanism which reduces the time required to install the system. The refurbishment project also included the replacement of 1960’s timber frame walls in one facility and full mechanical and electrical re-publishments in 2 of the facilities.
