About The Role

Two entry level roles are available for motivated students of construction who are passionate about building and structures. Suited to recent grads or with up to 2 years post graduate experience.

With a team of dynamic leaders and experienced construction professionals to learn from, and a pipeline of challenging projects, this Graduate opportunity for Civil/Structural engineering students will provide broad exposure to design, contracts, procurement, quality and site operations.

How you will support the project team:

  • Assisting in procurement for sub contractors by developing construction scopes of work
  • Liaising with consultants, councils, subcontractors – you will need to be comfortable talking with people on the phone
  • Safety administration and the onboarding of subcontractors to the QDC way of working
  • Performing calculations and interpreting technical data, plans and specifications to recommend the best decisions on design, cost, quality and constructability
  • Site based inspections as part of the quality and cost control of projects

What You Need To Excel In The Role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate your ideas and information – you will get a lot of practice doing this
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and measurement software
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Adaptability – to change, to new IT systems, and priorities that need juggling
  • A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Some exposure to a construction site environment is advantageous
  • Completion of an Engineering or Construction qualification
